Mudkip is horrible.
Yeah, it would be great for beating the first gym leader, which always has a rock type, but once you hit the second gym, you need to start catching pokemon you'll never use again.
All in all, Treecko is a much better choice. Grass pokemon are effective against rock and water types, so you don't need to start catching pokemon for a while, and once you need to start, you're actually catching decent pokemon.
And Torchic is just stupid-looking.

Claymation isn't a person, Bakaka.
Claymation is a type of animation, made with little clay figures, and lots and lots of pictures.
And Tim Burton is a director who has a history with the claymation style.
And it took me up until the movie came out to realize that Cora had the name Coraline. xD I read the book back in the day..in like 7th grade.
Those were good times...grade-wise...

dats a lie torchic is da best ...well all fire types r cause FIRE BEATS EVERYTHING!(and im no jus saying that every pokemon game i played fire pokemon as ur started killed everything even the water gyms)fires jus epic like that

I normally pick fire types. But after cyndaquil, they started to look...stupid. Torchic, I repeat, is stupid-looking. And I hate monkeys. If I don't get a fire type, I always go for a water type. Because then I don't need to catch another water type to get surf, although I usually get a vaporeon anyway, because I work better with water types.
Oh, and Charmander owns Torchic. Especially when you eventually evolve it to a Charizard. Dragon/Fire/Flying ftw.
